Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors. In 1980, graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University with MD. In 1985, maintained his PhD at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Acade-my of Medical Sciences. In 2001, maintained his Doctor Degree at the National Institute of Immunology, Russia. From 1985 through 1989, worked as a Post Doc Res Associate, for Inst of Medical Enzymology; and then Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology, USSR Academy of Sciences. From 1989 through 1995, was a Head of the Lab of Immunology, Helmholtz Eye Res Institute in Moscow. In 1989-1990, was trained at the NEI, NIH, Bethesda, MD, USA, and Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA, as well as at some of the British universities on the invitation of the Royal Society for Immunology. From 1995 through 2004, was a Director of the Dept for Immunology, Moscow Clinical Research Institute (MONIKI). In 1993-1996, was an Executive Secretary-in-Chief of the Editorial Board, Biomedical Science, an int journal published jointly by the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. During his ongoing career, he has mainly contributed to the identification and functions of new human disease-causing genes and variants, formulated natural products for anti-aging, and developed innovative theranostic strategies against cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and infectious diseases. He has more than 10 years of experience either in the academic, hospitals, or industrial sectors. Dr. Lu Qi obtained a medical degree in China and Ph.D. at Tufts University in the United States. He is now HCA Regents Distinguished Chair and Professor of Epidemiology in Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Director of Tulane Personalized Health Institute, and Director of Tulane University Obesity Research Center. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health. His research focuses on nutritional epidemiology, nutrigenomics, and nutrigenetics of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. As the Principal Investigator, he has led more than ten projects funded by NIH, American Heart Associations, and other funding agencies. He has published more than 370 scientific publications in peer- reviewed journals, including the high-impact journals such as N Engl J Med., JAMA, BMJ, Circulation, J Am Coll Cardiol., Eur Heart J., Nature, Nature Genetics and Nature Medicine. He has also written more than 10 book chapters and edited a textbook entitled ‘Gene-Environment Interactions and Human Diseases’. Dr. Qi’s current h-index is 94 (by May. 2021). Huang Wei Ling, born in Taiwan, raised and graduated in medicine in Brazil, a specialist in infectious and parasitic diseases, a General Practitioner, and a Parenteral and Enteral Medical Nutrition Therapist. Once in charge of the Hospital Infection Control Service of the City of Franca’s General Hospital, she was responsible for the control of all prescribed antimicrobial medication and received an award for the best paper presented at the Brazilian Hospital Infection Control Congress in 1998.
